Established in 1959, C.K.B. College, Teok has been closely connected with the hope and aspirations of the people of the eastern part of Jorhat District for more than six decades. From the days of its humble beginning, the College has gradually grown as an important centre of higher learning for students from the surrounding locality.
Affiliated with Dibrugarh University, the College offers undergraduate programmes in Arts and Commerce, providing students with opportunities to pursue higher education close to their homes and communities.
A significant number of our students come from rural areas with diverse social and economic backgrounds. Many belong to the ST, SC and Tea Garden communities. Their experiences, challenges and aspirations always enrich the diversity to our campus. We are conscious that, for many of our students, pursuing higher education is not easier compared to the rest. Factors such as distantly located, poor transportation, financial conditions and other social circumstances always create significant challenges to them. As a rural-based institution, we therefore remain committed to making education accessible, affordable, inclusive and meaningful for every student.
We also believe that our relationship with local communities is an important part of our institutional identity. Through extension activities, community engagement, awareness programmes, skill-development initiatives, outreach activities and experiential learning, we always try to connect classroom learning with real-life experiences. In this way, we extend our cooperation to community engagement to achieve the targeted goals set NEP 2020.
We believe that education is not merely an institutional setup of obtaining a degree. Our teachers play an important role as mentors, facilitators and guides, encouraging students to discover their strengths, build up confidence and to face the challenges of real life. The dedication and cooperation of our teaching, non-teaching and support staff continue to be among the greatest strengths of the College.
